Rémi Massé, working hard for you in Avignon–La Mitis–Matane–Matapédia
A native of Rivière-du-Loup, Rémi Massé was the executive director of Cégep de Matane. Before that, he worked for 16 years as a manager and executive in various federal government departments in Ottawa and Matane. Rémi knows the inner workings of the federal government and believes strongly in the potential of his region. Over the years, he has built solid business relationships with a number of provincial, federal and international government representatives. These relationships—combined with his experience, knowledge, and skills—have resulted in numerous regional improvement initiatives. In fact, his hard work has made it possible to attract investment, create good jobs, establish the largest document imaging centre in eastern Canada and build affordable housing. Moreover, Rémi used to chair the board of directors of the Digital Imagery Research and Development Centre and currently sits on the board of the Wind Energy TechnoCentre. He also helped develop the fundraising campaign of the Fondation du Cégep de Matane. Rémi earned a BA in French studies and completed graduate studies in linguistics at Université de Sherbrooke.
Proud of their family values, he and his wife, Helen, have four young sons.
Rémi Massé was elected as the Member of Parliament for Avignon—La Mitis–Matane—Matapédia in October of 2015. In February of 2019, he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
